Point your iPhone at an album cover and Coverplay tries to work out which record it is, then plays it in Apple Music.
It will sometimes be wrong. Identifying a record from a photograph is a judgment, not a lookup, and some covers — especially those with no text on them — are genuinely hard. Coverplay is supplied as it is, with no promise that any particular record will be identified correctly, or at all.
Coverplay plays music through Apple Music and does not supply the music itself.
An Apple Music subscription is a separate agreement between you and Apple. Coverplay does not control what Apple's catalogue contains, and some records simply are not on it.
Coverplay works on credits.
Credits are a way of metering the app. They are not money, they have no cash value, they cannot be transferred or sold, and they cannot be exchanged for anything except use of the app.
Purchased credits do not expire, and there is no monthly deadline to use them. They last as long as Coverplay's identification service runs — see If Coverplay closes, below. Credits are tied to the installation of the app that bought them: deleting the app or resetting your device may lose any credits you have not spent, and we cannot restore them.
We may change how many credits a pack contains, or what an action costs, in future versions. Any change applies to future purchases, not to credits you have already bought.
Credit packs are sold by Apple through the App Store, and Apple's payment terms apply. All refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, the credits from it are removed.
Coverplay depends on a paid identification service that costs money to run every time it reads a cover. We intend to run it for a long time, but we cannot promise it forever.
If we decide to stop:
Credits have no cash value and we cannot buy them back. For a refund on a recent purchase, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Please use Coverplay as it is meant to be used: pointing a phone at records. Do not attempt to automate it, script it, feed it images in bulk, tamper with the app, or work around the credit system. We may stop serving a device that does any of these.
To stop a runaway or an automated script, there is a ceiling on how many refunds a single device can receive over its lifetime. It is set far above any realistic use — a credit pack allows several hundred — and you will not meet it by using the app normally.
Coverplay is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or correct.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from the app is limited to the amount you have paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for Coverplay. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app, and where it conflicts with these terms, Apple's agreement governs.
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the app means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
